Practical notes for sellers

Short guides to interpreting the numbers you see in Carbon X.

Sales and settlement answer different questions

Sales describe product value. Settlement reflects the amount recorded after marketplace adjustments. Compare both with saved costs before deciding whether a product is profitable. A payment still pending should not be treated as a settled loss.

Customer returns are not courier RTO

A customer return follows a customer delivery; RTO concerns an unsuccessful delivery returning through the courier. Compare like-for-like outcomes and inspect the date range and denominator shown beside each rate.

Zero and unknown are different

A genuine zero requires complete evidence for the selected period. If a report is pending or a product cost is missing, read the coverage indicators before interpreting a zero-looking result.

Start with a repeatable weekly review

Check sync coverage, add missing costs, review your busiest products, then investigate returns and ad spend. Keep notes about the changes you make so you can compare the next period.
